A Return to the Motherland

I still remember the first time I stepped foot on this island. Cicadas chirped in the background, the scent of yulan flowers permeated the air, and a sun brighter than my pale skin had ever seen before beamed down on me. I was a wide-eyed, 19-year-old college student who had come to study Chinese at TaiDa University. Adventures in Taiwan

Working as a travel writer for Taiwan’s Tourism Bureau is quite literally, my dream job. I am sent around the island to explore fascinating destinations, participate in outdoor activities, and best of all, to learn about more about my cultural heritage and roots. I started writing for “Travel in Taiwan” when I lived in Taipei 10 years ago, and am over the moon to once more have this opportunity.
